My hacked account was restored after I reported it

Hello everyone!
As mentioned in the title, the hacker removed my email address and changed my password.
I attempted to use Facebook’s recovery methods, but I don’t see any of the prompts listed on their support pages. Instead, all I see is “We’ll send you a code to your email,” but it shows the hacker’s email address.
The page also indicates that since I was logged into the account previously, it will only display the message I mentioned.
What can I do?

This happened to my mom’s account. It was hacked in July 2023 and was active for four days, during which it scammed someone for a PS5. The account was missing for about six weeks before reappearing, likely due to being banned for scamming. It’s active again and has changed its profile picture several times, but in November, it removed the picture while keeping the cover photo.
I’ve reported it and had it banned from as many buy/sell groups as I could find. It’s currently in a dating platform group, and I have no idea what it’s doing there. I know it messaged a few people asking for a code, but they didn’t fall for it. Despite being reported as fake and hacked, the only option available is to recover the account. Recovery isn’t possible because the account is in her maiden name, while her ID is in her married name.
Please search your local buy/sell groups and get it banned. If you were part of any legitimate groups before the hack, report it there too.

I’m commenting to follow this, as my sister is currently facing this issue, and it’s incredibly frustrating. It appears they are portraying her as a crypto expert, posting and messaging people about it. Many friends have reached out to me, asking what’s going on with my sister and crypto, when it’s all completely fake. I’ve reported it, but they haven’t taken any action.

I encountered the same situation as you. A hacker stole my account and replaced my two-factor verification. The hacker also added a “yilesv.com” email address to my account. My original email address is still in my account. Every day I receive a large number of messages about my Facebook account. I am now panicking.

I was hacked and my account was disabled. I’m losing hope as each day passes.

I learned through this video and managed to recover my Facebook account. The hacker changed my email address and phone number :point_right: https://youtu.be/nU86Cji6nnI
