A buddy of mine passed away approximately three years ago. Seeing his username in our Discord memberlist always made me feel good. I recently learned that his account was removed; as a result, his name is no longer on the list and all of his communications are labeled as from “deleted users.” I looked everywhere for a solution, but I can’t. It claims it’s permanent, so I was just wondering if someone here could assist me.
Unfortunately, if it’s marked as permanent, there’s usually not much that can be done. Maybe try reaching out to Discord support directly and sharing your story? Sometimes they can help with special cases like this.
The best option would be to create a special channel or role in your server to honor your friend, so their presence is still felt in your group.
A few years ago, I faced a similar situation when a close friend’s account on our Discord server was removed after he passed away. Seeing his username always brought me comfort, but once his account was deleted, all of his messages turned into “deleted users” and his presence vanished from the member list. I looked into ways to restore his account or recover his messages, but discovered that once an account is permanently deleted, there’s no way to get it back. It was tough to accept, but I found some solace in keeping our memories alive in other ways, like creating a tribute channel or sharing fond stories about him with our community. If you’re looking for ways to honor his memory, perhaps you could consider similar options.
