How to stop Chrome from adding extra URL info…?

This is really tough to find an answer for, so I’m asking here.

When I type “mychart.hospital.org,” I just want it to go straight there, but instead, it fills in whatever random page I visited before, like “mychart.hospital.org/user/appointments/schedule/index.htm.

I don’t want all that extra info after the main site.

Another example: If I type ebay.com, it’ll autocomplete to ebay.com/somerandomitemfrommonthsago.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Have you tried typing the URL you want into the address bar, then using the cursor to hover over the suggestion when it pops up and clicking the X on the right to remove it?

Yeah, I’ve tried that, and it works, but I never had to do this before. It feels like I’m just manually clearing my history every time I want to go straight to the main domain.
