How to delete discord server

Sup guys,

I’m new to Discord and recently created a server for a project that has now wrapped up. I no longer need the server and would like to delete it, but I’m not sure how to do this. Can someone guide me through the steps to delete a Discord server?

Also, are there any things I should be aware of before deleting it, like data loss or any permissions I need to have? Any help would be greatly appreciated… TIA

Hey, Deleting a Discord server is a straightforward process, but it’s important to note that only the server owner has the permissions to delete the server.

To delete a server:

On Mobile: Go to the server settings page, tap the three dots in the top right corner, select “Delete Server,” and confirm your decision. You might also need to verify with 2FA. After that, the server should be deleted.

On Desktop: Open the server settings page, navigate to the “Overview” tab, and scroll down to find the “Delete Server” button. Click it, confirm the deletion, and possibly verify with 2FA. The server will then be deleted.

Hi guys  To delete your server, navigate to it if you are the server owner. Then, tap the server name to bring up a drop-down choice. Additionally, you can right-click on the server name. After selecting Server Settings, tap Delete Server and scroll down to find it.

You can indeed delete your Discord server, and the process is quite straightforward.

Before Deleting:

Consider Data Loss: Deleting the server will permanently erase all associated data such as chat history, channels, roles, and server settings. Ensure you have no need for this information before proceeding. Owner Permissions: Only the server owner, who originally created the server, has the authority to delete it. Steps to Delete a Discord Server:

On Desktop:

  1. Log in to your Discord account and navigate to the server you wish to delete.
  2. Click on the down arrow next to the server name at the top left of the screen.
  3. From the drop-down menu, select “Server Settings”.
  4. Scroll down in the Server Settings menu to find the “Server Management” section.
  5. Under “Server Management”, locate and click on “Delete Server”.
  6. Discord will ask you to confirm your decision. Type the name of the server exactly as shown and click “Delete Server” again to confirm.

On Mobile:

  1. Open the Discord app and navigate to the server you want to delete.
  2. Tap on the three dots located in the top right corner of the server screen.
  3. Select “Settings” from the menu that appears.
  4. If available, tap on the “Overview” tab at the top.
  5. Scroll down and tap on “Delete Server”.
  6. Confirm your decision by tapping “Yes” to delete the server.

Additional Tips:

  • If there are members on your server with specific permissions, it’s courteous to notify them in advance that you plan to delete the server.
  • Discord does not provide an option to recover deleted servers or their data, so exercise caution and delete only if you are absolutely certain you no longer need the server.
