How do I report a Discord server?

I came across a Discord server that seems to break a few rules. Anyone know the steps to report it? Do I need anything specific to make the report?

Yeah, you’ll need a few things: the server’s ID, the user IDs involved, and message links if possible. Discord’s Trust & Safety team will look into it once you submit.

Oh right! Don’t forget to turn on Developer Mode to get those IDs.

What’s Developer Mode? How do I enable it?

@Paxton
Go to settings, look under ‘Advanced,’ and toggle it on. It lets you copy IDs for servers, users, and messages.

Just a tip: Try talking to the server mods first. Reporting should be a last step unless they’re part of the issue.

Good call. Mods might resolve it without needing a report, but if not, you’ve got all the info for Discord’s team.

What if I don’t have the message link? Is that a problem?

You can still submit the report, but message links make the case stronger. If they’re missing, Discord may have a tougher time verifying things.

Does anyone know if non-Discord users can report a server too?

Yep, they can! There’s an external link to fill out a report form without needing a Discord account.

Parents can also report if their kid’s involved. They need to select ‘I’m the parent or guardian of a user’ when filling out the form.

Makes sense. That way they can include details on the situation for Discord to check into.
