Why is my Telegram stuck on updating?

I’ve been having this issue where Telegram keeps saying it’s updating and won’t send any messages. Does anyone know how to fix this? I’ve tried restarting the app, but no luck so far.

It’s probably a connection issue. I’ve seen this happen when the internet is slow or unstable. Try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data or the other way around.

That’s what worked for me too. My Wi-Fi was acting up, and switching to mobile data fixed it instantly.

Same here. It’s usually a network problem. If your data is slow, try a different network if you can.

You might want to check if Telegram is down. Sometimes, the app is having issues, and you’ll have to wait until it’s back up. You can use Down Detector to see if others are having the same problem.

Yeah, I’ve had that happen when Telegram servers were down. Checking Down Detector or Twitter helps to confirm if it’s an app issue.

If it’s not the network or app being down, try clearing Telegram’s cache. On Android, you can do this in the settings under Apps. iOS users can offload the app and reinstall it.

Clearing the cache fixed it for me. It’s a good way to reset the app without losing your data.

Force stopping the app can also help. Just close it completely and reopen it. That usually works when it’s stuck on updating.

I’ve noticed this happens more with large media files or when there’s a weak connection. If all else fails, try sending smaller messages or waiting until you have a stable connection.
