I’m a bit confused about something going on in my Discord server and was hoping someone could shed some light on it. Recently, I’ve noticed that there seems to be a soundboard active in my server, but I didn’t set one up myself.
Does Discord have a default soundboard feature, or could this be something else entirely? It’s a bit disconcerting because I want to ensure our server’s environment is appropriate and not unintentionally disruptive.
Discord has recently introduced a new Soundboard feature that allows users to upload and play custom sounds in voice channels. However, this feature is currently only available to Discord Nitro subscribers and is not enabled by default on new servers. The sounds you are hearing in your server are likely being played by Nitro subscribers who have set up the Soundboard feature on your server. As the server owner, you can manage the Soundboard settings and disable it if the sounds are causing disruption. You can also set specific sounds that are allowed to be used in your server’s Soundboard.
If you are not a Nitro subscriber, you will not have access to the Soundboard feature yourself, but you can still control its usage on your server as the owner. I’d recommend reviewing your server’s settings and deciding whether the Soundboard feature is appropriate for your community. If not, you can disable it to maintain a more controlled environment.
