I messed around with my PC settings a while back to make it run faster, but now my screen shows this weird reflection effect. I just started using it again after years, and I can’t figure out how to fix it. Can anyone help?
What exactly do you mean by ‘reflection’? Could you explain more?

I can’t upload a photo here, but it’s like a mirror effect of what’s on the screen.

@Barbara
Have you tried starting Windows in Safe Mode to see if it still happens?

No, I don’t know how to get into Safe Mode.

@Brennan
I already tried that and even reset the PC to factory settings, but the problem’s still there.

Does it happen in Safe Mode too? If it does, it might mean the display is failing. If not, it could be a driver problem.
@Brennan
Yeah, it happens even during a factory reset and after using Display Driver Uninstaller.

Try connecting the PC to an external monitor if you can. That would help confirm if the issue is with the display or something else.
@Brennan
I don’t have another monitor, and my TV doesn’t have the right connection.

Maybe borrow a monitor or adapter from a friend? Otherwise, it sounds like it could be a hardware problem.
@Barbara
This sounds like your monitor might be dying. Does the same thing happen if you plug it into a TV or another screen?

It’s an old PC, and my TV doesn’t have the right port for it.
@Barbara
Artifacts like ghosting or reflections are pretty common with failing screens. That’s why I was asking.

Got it, I’ll look up what that looks like to compare.

Actually, it’s not ghosting. It looks like the app or text is mirrored to the side of it, and it changes with the content.
