Random Google Drive shared to me back in 2021... Is it safe?

I’m not great with tech stuff and I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here’s my main question: Is it safe or should I delete it? I found a ‘free ebooks’ drive that was shared to me in 2021. There are way too many ebooks, and I don’t even know who shared it or where it came from. It just says a person named ‘ebooksonlinestored’ shared it with me.

If you don’t need it, haven’t asked for it, or don’t want it, just delete it. Nothing good will come of it.

Will Mobi files have viruses or malware that could harm my PC or Kindle?

@BrianDaniel1
Does it matter? Why download something you haven’t asked for? If you do, don’t complain if it causes problems later.

Mostly because I sent the link to my mom who asked for a Jane Austen book before wondering if it was safe. I’m not sure if Mobi files can carry viruses. :sweat_smile:

@BrianDaniel1
Why would you share it with someone without knowing if it’s safe?

I’m not very good with tech, sorry about that.

I did upload it to VirusTotal, and it came back clean, but I’m not sure if I can trust VirusTotal itself.

@BrianDaniel1
It should be fine, don’t worry.

@BrianDaniel1
Did you download the file and check it? That’s not the best idea. It’s like thinking a package outside is a bomb, so you bring it inside and shake it to check.

If it was a virus or malware, you might have already been infected.

This. If you haven’t downloaded anything, you’re safe.

I’m cooked, guys. My mom asked me to send her a Jane Austen book from there :′(

To be fair, I am a bit immature, haha. I like Twitch a lot.

@BrianDaniel1
I had an ice cream fight with my sister and her kid two weeks ago, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING IMMATURE.
Nice skincare routine though.

Hey, I was like you. Don’t let the world change you. Once you lose it, it’s gone.

When I was 19, ‘chat’ was an object/item that we couldn’t remember the name of, or didn’t want to refer to my name.
