Minecraft Green Dye: A Beginner's Guide

Hey Minecraft enthusiasts!

I’m trying to add a pop of green to my builds, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to make green dye. Can anyone share a quick and easy recipe? I’ve tried mixing yellow and blue dye, but it’s not quite the right shade.

Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

You’ll need three things to craft green dye: Cacti, a furnace, and fuel to power that furnace. Cacti grow all over desert and badlands (also called mesa) biomes. To craft a stove, fill the outside edges of your crafting table with cobblestone.

For years, dye gathering has been seen as an early game exploration reward. Therefore, the answer to the question “Why doesn’t this exist already?” is that the small hurdles of gathering ink sacs, cacti, and cocoa beans have all been included to promote exploration. It’s not designed to be faster, as you pointed out, even if you already have a faster concept for a solution using yellow and blue dye.
Of course, this is an antiquated way of thinking. The dye collecting method has remained largely same since 1.2, or 11 years ago, with the exception of adding light blue as an option for above-ground colors. It ought to be adjusted.
I wasn’t arguing for or against it; I was just explaining why it hasn’t been done yet.
