Messenger messages disappear after end-to-end encryption, but they still show up on the PC version

I had to uninstall and reinstall Messenger on my phone, and after logging in, I found that all my messages after end-to-end encryption are gone from my phone and the browser. However, they are still visible in the app on my PC. Is there any way to fix this? It’s really inconvenient to have to use my computer every time someone replies to a message I sent today. Plus, I lost a lot of messages, and I really want them back on my phone.

Did you turn on encrypted backup in your privacy settings?

Same issue in my iPhone 15 pro. I can access old chat and media in my old android and pc but not new iphone.

You turned off the backup thing (or maybe its not turned on) that’s why the messages are not syncing

Well everything is on as per messenger and some youtube videos instructions. Still same. I saw a lots of ips user have this same issue. Meta ruined the messenger with this Encryption thing

Maybe your old android or PC does not have the feature turned on back then, this will make the chats you sent on that device not synced meaning you can only see them with that device and not your new device. Also, I do think that this encryption thing is in fact USEFUL. This is a safety feature to protect your privacy meaning only you and the person you sent it to can see the messages you’ve sent together, even messenger itself cannot see these messages. For privacy, encryption is a positive thing.

same here.did you try getting your messanger data back? i broke my laptop but if you can try and go on settings in messanger, and find copys to download them.at least thats what they say would work eh

Encryption backup probably turned off, that’s why absolutely no messages has been saved and synced, you cant possibly bring all those messages on any phone you have, only your pc will have those messages unless you are using messenger on chrome on your pc, then if you use your phone and you log in to the messenger on chrome, then that’s the only way you can see all of the messages you have
