If you're hesitant about running a race, just go for it! Watch the video for motivation #teamNoPrep

A year ago, I wasn’t happy with my life. When I got the chance to join a Spartan race just a week before it happened, I took it and signed up. I convinced two coworkers to join me, and we formed TeamNoPrep. Spartan really means it when they say it’s a life-changing experience! Instead of staying inside and wasting my summer and fall, I’ve felt more motivated to stay fit and stick to a workout plan. Now, I’m getting ready for my next race! Thanks, Spartan, for everything you do! Ah roo! Ah roo! Ah roo! See you at the Washington race in September!

THIS WAS AWESOME, thank you for inspiring a fat old lady to keep training. Dallas, Oct. 2024.

I have my first sprint in October and it’s gotten me a bit nervous. I’m completely fine for the running as I regularly train for endurance sports (mainly running and swimming), but I can’t do more than 10 full-form pull ups. Working on the workout regimen right now though. Glad you had a good time with it man!

First off, welcome to the tribe! Second of all, you’ll do just fine. Most people I’ve met in the OCR community are either strong runners or gym rats that don’t run to the car in the rain. And then, of course, you have your extremes (the morbidly unprepared and the competitive beasts). Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses on course and goals may vary, but barring serious injury, I’ve never met anyone that simply didn’t finish.

Last year I did a grueling beast and met a couple on course that started an hour before me. I passed them about halfway through and saw them again at the finish line 2 hours after I finished. But they pushed and made it.

LTDR: YOU GOT THIS!

This has absolutely pumped me up and made me feel better. Thanks for leaving this comment!

OP here, you could not have said it any better. That was one of the things that I was so surprised by was the overwhelming positivity and support on the course from random people! It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you have any desire at all, I would do a sprint! They’re fun, challenging and engaging. I am in no way a ultra runner or a gym rat. As you see in the video, I’m just an average kid who works at a desk. 45 days and counting until the beast in Washington state!
