How to tag someone on Instagram?

I am new to Instagram and I am trying to figure out how to tag someone in my posts and comments. Can anyone explain the steps to do this? Are there any tips for tagging effectively?

When you mention someone using “u/USERNAME” on Reddit:

  1. The username will turn into a blue hyperlink, regardless of whether the user has Reddit Gold or not.
  2. If the user has Reddit Gold (now called Reddit Premium), they will receive a notification of the mention.
  3. If the user does not have Reddit Gold (Reddit Premium), their name will still be a hyperlink, but they won’t receive a notification.

So, for example:

  • Mentioning “u/mister_bubbles” will create a blue hyperlink to their profile.
  • If “mister_bubbles” has Reddit Premium, they’ll get a notification.
  • If “mister_bubbles” does not have Reddit Premium, they won’t get a notification, even though their name is hyperlinked.

Open the Instagram app and either create a new post or go to an existing post where you want to add a tag. Type the “@” symbol followed by the username of the person you want to tag. As you type, a list of matching accounts will appear. Select the correct account from the list.

In my area, Mazda cars were often criticized because they rusted much faster compared to cars from other brands not associated with Ford or Mazda. This made them less attractive for long-term ownership, especially in the first generation (Gen1), although it was less of an issue in the second generation (Gen2).

However, mechanically speaking, I haven’t heard many complaints about Mazda cars.

If you want to tag users (add text or colour next to their username), click the small “tag” button next to their username.

To tag someone on Instagram, start a new post or comment, then type “@” followed by the person’s username. Select their profile from the list that appears.
