How much data does Discord use?

Does anyone know how much data Discord actually uses, especially for calls? I’m curious if there’s a way to keep it lower, too.

Discord data can add up depending on what you’re doing. Texts use very little, but video calls can eat around 11MB for a few minutes.

Wow, didn’t realize video was that much more! Guess it makes sense, though.

Yeah, voice calls are way lighter, around 200KB for a couple of minutes.

On PC, you can check data in settings. Just go to ‘Data Usage’ to see which apps are using the most data.

Good tip! On a Mac, check ‘Activity Monitor’ under ‘Network’ to track it per session.

If you’re on mobile, go to ‘Settings’ on your phone, then find Discord in the list to see data usage stats.

Works on Android too! Shows graphs for data over time, pretty helpful.

To reduce data, disable images in ‘User Settings’. There’s an option to auto-compress and turn off link previews too.

That’s awesome, thanks! Didn’t know you could tweak all that for data savings.

Turning off animated stickers helps a lot too. Go to ‘Accessibility’ and set ‘Stickers’ to ‘Never animate’.

Great tip! I’ll try that since the stickers do load constantly.
