I’m trying to share videos on Discord, but the file size limit is a bit of a pain. I know Nitro lets you send larger files, but are there any other ways to send bigger videos without needing Nitro?
If it’s just over the 8MB limit, you could try compressing the video. That can work if it’s not too large to begin with.

Good idea! What tool do you use for compressing?
@Rafe
I use HandBrake. It’s free and works well for reducing file sizes without too much quality loss.

You could also upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo and just share the link. Discord will embed it so people can watch directly in the chat.
True! Plus, if it’s on YouTube, you don’t have to worry about any size limits at all.
Another option is using Google Drive or Dropbox to upload the video and sharing the link. Viewers can download it if they want to save it.

I use Google Drive for larger files too. Just make sure the link sharing is on.
On mobile, you can send videos the same way. Tap the image icon, select your video, and send. But if it’s over 8MB, you’ll have to try one of these other methods.

Yep, the mobile limit is the same. Using Google Drive is my go-to for bigger files.
If you’re regularly sharing large files, it might be worth looking into Nitro for the 100MB limit. Makes things a lot simpler.

I’ll consider it. Sounds like it could be worth it for frequent use.
