Just curious if anyone has tips for posting links in Discord chats. I’ve been hearing about using bots like Carl Bot or Webhooks. Anyone have experience with these? Any advice on making links look clean?
Yeah, I use Carl Bot for embedding links. You just need to set it up, then use brackets to hyperlink like this.

Sounds cool. Is it tricky to set up?
@Rory
Not at all. Just head to Carl.gg, log in with Discord, and follow the steps. Super easy once you get the hang of it.
If you want more control over links, try using Webhooks. You set them up under Integrations in Server Settings.

What’s the advantage of Webhooks over Carl Bot?

You get more customization options with Webhooks, like adding images, colors, and timestamps to your messages.
For long URLs, I’d say just use a link shortener like TinyURL or Bitly. Keeps things clean and easy to read.

Good call. Bitly also lets you track link clicks if you’re into analytics.
Deleting links is simple too. Just right-click the message and select ‘Delete Message’ if you need to remove it from a chat.

Good to know! Can you delete links that other people post, or only your own?
@Rory
You can delete others’ links if you’re a mod or admin. Otherwise, it’s just your own.

For safe linking, check out the Privacy & Safety settings under User Settings. There’s a ‘Keep Me Safe’ option that scans DMs for spam links.
That’s a lifesaver in busy servers. Keeps you from clicking anything sketchy.
