If you want to create a custom Minecraft map like the one in the image, start by planning your world’s size, landmasses, and key locations. Use tools like World Painter or image editing software to design the terrain, add water, and place biomes. Then, add cities, roads, and labels to bring your map to life. Customize it with colors, textures, and lighting to make it unique. Take your time, be creative, and use online resources to guide you.
This map (as well as many others) was made with Paint.net. With that free tool, you may arrange the desired details on several levels and then merge them into an output.jpg or.png file. levels are used in a highly user-friendly manner.
In the case of maps based on pre-existing worlds, such as this one, I started with a source image (complex in this case because there isn’t a detailed canonical Malazan world map; instead, I had to use Steven Erikson’s rough original world map) as the bottom layer, followed by an ocean layer, a land/continent map, a desert, a mountain peak, and so on, until they matched Erikson’s original outline.
To create a custom map with Google Maps, visit maps.google.com and click “Your Places” > “Maps” > “Create a Map.” Customize by adding markers, lines, and shapes manually, or import data from a spreadsheet for bulk markers. Adjust map styles and add photos or videos to markers as needed.
