How can I prevent downloads on my dad's Galaxy Tab A9?

I usually handle tech stuff well, but…

My dad struggles with technology due to his age. He often downloads games with ads and clicks on flashy ‘download’ buttons, resulting in constant notifications and pop-ups on his tablet.

I’m looking for ways to disable downloads completely or require a password for every download. Any advice to make his tablet safer would be greatly appreciated.

Settings → Connections → more connection settings → Private DNS → use dns.adguard-dns.com

Private DNS is indeed a good option. There are many free providers available.

You can try using an app like ‘app block’ to block access to the Play Store (remember to grant necessary permissions).

Nice, I’ll give this a shot!

I used Google Family Link to set up parental controls on my grandpa’s phone. It’s been helpful in preventing accidental taps.

Consider buying ad-free versions of the apps he likes. It’s a small price to pay to avoid those annoying pop-ups.

Disable ‘All sites’ notifications in Chrome settings to prevent unwanted ads and pop-ups.

You might be able to create a restricted profile on Android, like a kid’s profile, to limit app installations.

You can use parental control features already built into Android to manage app installations.

Don’t forget to enable Auto Blocker in Settings > Security and Privacy.

Consider using Universal ADB Debloater to remove unnecessary apps and junk.

Keep in mind that software updates may include new games, which can’t be prevented.
