Can you always download videos from any site?

@Ellis
Try 1dm+ on Android. It has a built-in browser and downloader. Not sure if it’s available on Mac, though.

Yes, there’s a way to use IDM on Mac! I’ve been doing it for years.

Could you share how?

If you can see it, you can save it. Sites can throw hurdles at you, but it’s technically impossible to completely block you from saving a video as long as you’re running your own software on your machine.

The video data has to be there, along with a way to decode it, or else your device wouldn’t be able to play it. If you can intercept it, you can download it. Sometimes it’s tricky, though, especially if there’s extra encryption. Still, it’s always doable if you’re determined enough.

I use Video DownloadHelper to grab videos, but sometimes it doesn’t directly download and encodes streams instead.

1DM+ on Android has been more reliable lately, grabbing almost anything.

1DM+ is great but it struggles with some sites, especially streams.

Yes, if your computer can display it, it can save it. They can make it really hard to do, but it’s always possible. Even if you have to modify the browser or use a screen recorder.

You can always use screen recorders.

Simple and effective.

Try jDownloader. Works for most sites apart from the big ones like Netflix.
