I recently came across a super interesting Telegram group that focuses on ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. The only problem is, I’d rather not use my main phone number for this group.
I vaguely remember hearing something about using Telegram without a phone number a while back, but I can’t seem to find anything concrete. Is there a way to join anonymously, or am I stuck using my regular number?

A completely anonymous (but temporary) account can be created. Use a phone number from textverified.com to register; this will lead to an anonymous email. You’re stuck, though, because Telegram might decide to see if you still have this number.
As an alternative, you can create a permanent, nearly anonymous account with a phone number from VoIP software like Hushed or Mysudo. Nearly because the VoIP line will cost money, which you will be responsible for paying. But in order to accomplish that, your opponent would have to compromise Telegram or convince the VoIP provider to divulge your information through hacking.
