Brightness Problem... Why Is My Screen So Dark?

I started having an issue with the brightness on my Windows laptop a while ago. At 100%, it used to be the max brightness, but at 99% it would get super dark. I thought maybe it was a hardware issue, so I used a dimmer program to manage it. But today, after updating my system, the screen stays dark ALL THE TIME—even at 100%. Can anyone help me fix this or suggest an app that might override this problem? I have an important test next week and I can’t study with this dark screen.

Is night mode turned on? Maybe try checking for blue light settings.
Could adaptive brightness be causing this? Also, have you tried safe mode?

I have night light turned off, and adaptive brightness is also off. What do you mean by safe mode?

@Smart
Safe mode disables most drivers and apps. It’s a way to test if an app is causing the issue. It can help narrow down the problem.

How do I disable it?
